Life at Camp Sequoia Lake
This section offers a glimpse into our facilities, activities, food, schedule, and more to give you a better idea of our Youth, Teen and Family programs. Unfortunately, we haven't figured out how to show you the sunshine, cool breeze, smell of pine trees, or fresh, crisp air. You'll just have to come experience that part for yourself.

A Day at Camp Youth Camp
At Youth Camp, we offer a ton of awesome activities to keep campers constantly engaged and smiling. We also use carefully-designed progressive programming, which allows campers to experience new and different activities as they get older. This means that our activities are age-appropriate and fulfilling for campers of all ages and experience levels. It also means that campers can come back year after year and never get bored with the "same old" activities.
Our weekly schedule is also a progressive design, to keep each day a little different from the last, and to ensure that every camper gets the full camp experience. Over the course of a week, campers progress through the following programming:
- Building Relationships (Cabin Group Time)
At camp, your cabin group becomes your temporary family. Amazing friendships and bonds can be formed with bunkmates, so in the beginning of the week, we spend time learning to live, work, and play together as a cabin group.
- Structured, Challenging and Fun Activities
Each week we offer exciting and engaging structured activities. Campers are presented with a series of age-appropriate activities, and they pick which ones that they would like to participate in. At the scheduled time, campers attend these activities, led by camp counselors. Activity groups are made up of similarly-aged boys and girls, so it's a great time to meet new friends from all around camp.
- Buddy Choice Time
Buddy Choice Time is when campers get the chance to flex their independence. During this time, campers are free to select
activities at their own pace, including just good old hanging out time with new friends. Campers
must always be with at least one “buddy” during Buddy Choice Time, and are well supervised by staff.
- Special Activities
In addition to the progressive programming elements discussed above, each day contains campwide special activities. These range from traditional campfires, hikes, unit activities and overnight camp-outs to talent shows and dance parties.
Special Programming for Teenagers

Our diverse schedule keeps youth campers entertained year after year, but let's face it: teenagers are a different breed than youth campers. So, we offer Adventure Camp, for more mature campers entering 9th to 12th grades.
At Teen Adventure Camp, we rely on our same, proven philosophy and values, but we throw some different activities into the mix. Teenage campers are likely to experience activities such as:
- Adventure Ropes Course
- Rock Climbing
- Advanced Hiking
|
- Movie Night
- Leadership Activities
- A bit of hangin' out
|
For this group of campers, we also spend a little less time focusing on cabin groups and more time building peer groups. Teenagers are more interested in networking and being social with their peers, so we provide them with a safe environment to make new friends, problem-solve, and grow.
